Youth Communication - Summer Writing Workshop

Are you a teen who loves to write? Who wants to help other teens by sharing your personal stories?

Learn the techniques of narrative nonfiction and interviewing and participate in writing lessons, discussions, and group activities. All participants receive a $2,000 stipend for full attendance and completing one or more stories in the workshop. All participants, regardless of documentation status, can receive the stipend. Participants will also be provided a daily two-trip MetroCard unless we have to switch to a remote workshop.

Technical Stage Production Internship @ Apollo Theater

Learn how to apply technical elements of theater such as lighting design, audio engineering, projection, carpentry, and production design, to live and recorded stage productions from the pros at The Apollo. 
 
Selected PAID Interns will be assigned to work with members of The Apollo’s production crew to learn what goes into creating events at the legendary Apollo.

The Karim Kharbouch Coding Fellowship

The Karim Kharbouch Coding Fellowship (KKCF) was co-founded in 2019 with Bronx Hip Hop artist French Montana to provide code and design curriculum to immigrant high school youth in the Bronx.

Through a 12-month fellowship program, Fellows (ages 16-24) will complete 80 hours of summer curriculum to prepare them for college, the future of work, and STEM careers, while participating in monthly career workshops throughout the academic year. During the summer months, Fellows will participate in six weeks of summer instruction, then receive monthly career coaching session and workshops.
