Yale Bassett Award for Community Engagement Scholarship:

Yale’s Center for the Study of Race, Indigeneity, and Transnational Migration (RITM) will bestow the Yale Bassett Award for Community Engagement on a select number of high school juniors (class of 2023) in the United States in spring 2022.​​​​​​​

Yale Bassett Award winners demonstrate a record of creative leadership and public service, academic distinction, interdisciplinary problem solving, and experience addressing societal issues that might include, but need not be limited to, race and racism. Students with non-traditional leadership experiences or significant work experiences are also encouraged to apply. 

Winners receive a book selected by the faculty of the Yale Center for the Study of Race, Indigeneity, and Transnational Migration, and they are invited to a gathering on Yale’s campus, hosted by the Center.

Eligibility:

  • High school juniors who attend a high school in the United States and its territories (no citizenship or permanent  residency requirement)

Scholarship Plus Award:

The Scholarship Plus award is a scholarship and community for New York City students who have demonstrated strong academic achievement in the face of significant obstacles. 

Scholarship Plus offers such students a competitive four-year scholarship PLUS individualized, wraparound support. We celebrate your successes, and help you navigate difficult moments. 

The scholarship, up to $8,000 a year, may be used to pay tuition, room and board, fees, and other educational expenses. Each scholarship will be renewable annually for up to four years of study as long as the student maintains a good academic record and makes standard progress toward a degree.

Eligibility:

  • Strong academic achievement (85% or higher GPA)

  • Significant financial need (family income less than $50,000)

  • Faced great adversity

  • Willingness to engage with Scholarship Plus community in occasional events, workshops and semester check-ins

Ascend Educational Fund (AEF), Inc Scholarship:

This spring, Ascend Educational Fund will award scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $20,000 to immigrant students and children of immigrants who are graduating from a New York City high school to attend public or private colleges and universities, regardless of ethnicity, national origin, or immigration status.

Eligibility:

  • Must be born outside the United States or have two parents born outside the United States

  • Must be graduating high school Spring 2022 in the five boroughs of New York City

  • Must enroll full-time at an accredited public or private college or university in 2022-2023

Bronx Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Scholarship:

Currently, Bronx Alumnae Chapter is awarding one (1) four-year scholarship in the amount of $8,000, dispersed at $1,000 per semester, to a high school senior who is a resident of the Bronx and maintains each semester in college an overall 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. In addition, they will also award several one-time scholarship grants, varying from $500 to $1,000, to Bronx high school seniors entering college.

Eligibility:

  • Student plans to attend and matriculate a four year college as a full-time student in the Fall of 2022

  • Student has demonstrated ability to master college level work

  • Student has a minimum overall academic B average

  • Student participates in extracurricular activities in or out of school

  • Student resides in the Bronx.

Application Deadline: February 26th, 2022

Banyan College Scholarship for South Asian Americans:

This scholarship, dedicated to students who are of South Asian origin or descent from low-income families, will be awarded to New York City high school seniors attending college in Fall 2022. Grants between $2,000 and $10,000 will be awarded annually for up to five students and may be renewable for a total of four years based on good academic standing. 

Eligibility:

  • Be of South Asian origin/descent (countries include India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal)

  • Be a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the United States

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher

  • Show annual family household income to be below $75,000

  • Have two recommendation letters submitted on their behalf

  • Be applying to full-time undergraduate programs in a U.S. accredited 4-year college or university for Fall 2022

Rapunzl Scholarship:

This upcoming Fall, Rapunzl is hosting a $10,000 national scholarship competition for high school students.
